About
Hi everyone, and welcome! I’m so thrilled you’ve landed here on my website.
I am Liis, an ambitious daydreamer with an endless goal list that I thought would be interesting to share with the world. During the day, I work as a marketing & event manager. My off hours are dedicated to my blog and of course, to attempts at conquering my goals. Currently I am based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and also in NYC, but if you heard me speak, my Estonian would shine through.
TheLiist is a personal blog about defining, setting and working towards goals, i.e. a story about the real life struggle of turning dreams into reality.
I primarily started with this project because in addition to having a chaotic mindset and struggling with occasional anxiety, I’m also a huge daydreamer with procrastination habits. Therefore, in order to get anything done, I need to write down my ideas and goals. I’ve been practicing this since 2014 and it has always been simultaneously fun and frustrating to see how my life planning works out (spoiler alert: it almost never goes as I envisioned it to in the first place). Writing down the goals has helped me to achieve more and accept that we have only 24 hours in a day. I’ve also learned that “you can do anything, but not everything” (quote borrowed from the author David Allen) because there has to be time left for spontaneity and relaxation.
Over the years, my interest in finding my true passion and how to live a more meaningful, organized and balanced life, has never stopped growing. My experience shows that being able to define the dreams and goals along with a solid (read: realistic) action plan is the perfect method not only to get to know myself better, but it also serves as the necessary motivation for me to actually get things done. For some, this technique may be common sense, but to me it is pretty much a form of self-therapy.
What to expect from the blog?
It will be fun and lighthearted combined with meaningful and impactful topics. Besides blogging about my own current goal list and its progress (including hilarious failures and emotional triumphs), I’ll be discussing tips on defining, setting and working towards the goals that I’ve learned either from my own practice, real-life experts, (audio)books, podcasts, etc. I am sincerely optimistic that sharing my experiences could spark enthusiasm in other like-minded people, and perhaps some of you will get inspired enough to set up your own goal lists.
